The Landings sits on Skidaway Island, a 4,200 acre barrier island in Chatham County, Georgia, about fifteen miles southeast of downtown Savannah. The community puts downtown at twenty minutes, and that holds up outside of rush hour and St. Patrick's Day. Understand what kind of island this is before you go further. Skidaway is a marsh island on the Intracoastal Waterway, not an oceanfront one. You get tidal creeks, maritime forest, and deepwater docks. You do not get a beach. Tybee is roughly forty minutes away by car.
